Hardware-Monitoring

In times of virtualized environments or software-defined architectures, the many servers that are hardware in the datacenter must not be lost from focus. They all form the basis for virtualization, databases, clusters, appliances or applications.

The monitoring module makes fundamental components that are not included in any operating system monitoring visible. The health information of the internal RAID controller is as relevant as the status of the power supplies and fans. The management board log often provides substantial information about the status of the hardware.

Management boards and the associated protocols of the leading manufacturers, e.g. HP ILO, Oracle ILOM, DELL iDRAC and common protocols like IPMI or SNMP are used here. The information obtained from this provides an optimal supplement to the operating system monitoring. The information gained by the Monitoring Module provides decisive information on defective or not properly functioning hardware components.
